Truck efficiency

The most important action for reducing diesel use is the now-being-considered new federal truck efficiency standards.

Electric trucks

Local delivery trucks are already good candidates for battery-electric power. Heavy trucks powered by overhead wires will be piloted soon in Los Angeles.

Rail

Shift freight to rail for greater efficiency, electrify rail lines, and build high-speed passenger rail.
